Finding our history on a map.

Thank you to all of you for your help writing significant places in your families lives. 213 had a blast placing all our locations on a map and saw a lot of trends that will lead right into our immigration unit.

Homework Club

This program is great for students that may need a little extra help or confidence with homework.
Teachers are ready to help with the content but also help them stay on task to complete their assignments.
I sent one home today with every student. If you need to, you can print this out and send it in.

If you have already attended a meeting, you do not need to go again. If anything changes, I will let you know.

"Field trips are considered to be a strong component to the educational process that facilitates hands on

learning, vocabulary development and background knowledge. All field trips are curriculum based and

are connected to lessons and projects. Buses are provided for all field trips and a permission slip with a

parent signature is required in order for a student to attend a field trip. Classroom teachers often request

parent volunteers. All parent volunteers are required to have an updated CORI form on file at

Central Office and also attend a Principal’s Confidentiality Meeting to be eligible to chaperone field

trips.Special health requests need to be communicated with the school nurse prior to the field trip."

Math Log

Here is another copy of the "math log" (similar to a reading log) that I gave the students today. Knowing your multiplication facts is key, especially as we advance into more challenging math. I was asked by a few students to re-make the log, like we did last year, so that they can see that they are practicing math for 5-10 minutes every night.

Every school day, they will need to ask someone (parent/guardian/babysitter) to initial the day to show that they did do the practicing.
